Intrepid

2002, 22-3/4″ x 17-3/16″, pastel on sanded pastel paper

Carousel Memories

This one-of-a-kind original pastel original was created in 2002, photographed and archived in a safe environment until just recently.

I loved carousel horses as a child. In many ways I still do. I’m a fan of the carved wood and finishes along with beautiful energy that goes into creating them. For a while, before my creative focus turned to figurative art, I had briefly considered creating a series of carousel paintings. INTREPID was the first and only one to have been completed. I still enjoy the strength, power, and colors of carousel horses. Perhaps one day I will return to them as my inspiration.
