GILLETTE COMPANY cigar art by A.D. Cook

Gillette Company

2007, 36″ x 12″, urethane on specially=ground metal

The photo doesn’t reflect the art well, which is often the case with my metal art. The Gillette Company artwork first started as a specially-ground aluminum panel that was first painted black before scribing away the ashtray to reveal the metal below. Then, the smoky lady was airbrushed with a color-shifting automotive paint that creates the illusion of her turning on or off as you view her from different angles. Finally, the artwork was cleared with miles of urethane before being polished to a glass-smooth finish.
