Do you remember where you were 45 years ago today? I do. I was a young teenager working as a carry-out boy at a local Thriftway grocery store in Oregon City, Oregon, on August 16, 1977, That was the day Elvis Presley died and I remember it like it was yesterday.
During my Hollywood Video years, one of my favorite subjects to paint was Elvis. I painted several large Elvis murals in the Hollywood Video stores, mostly throughout the Northwest – Portland, and Seattle. Few still exist.
Christmas with the King? The King of Rock and Roll, perhaps. Well, sort of. Steve Connolly as Elvis is the “Spirit of the King.”
Sometimes it’s hard to believe that 20 years have passed since my five-year tenure as the Hollywood Video mural artist.
Sometimes Las Vegas locals take fun in doing the “tourist thing“. Sunday was one of those days for me. After all, there are really a ton of great things to do in Vegas that can be found nowhere else. My buddy
