Art Is About Creating, Not Recreating. As a lifelong creative, I’ve always been fascinated by different art processes and techniques. This curiosity has led me to seek new ways to express my creativity constantly.
I was organizing my studio recently and tripped across “The Illusion,” a self-portrait I created in colored pencil back in 1983. I drew that portrait after discovering Iwata airbrushes earlier that summer and receiving an Iwata HP-C as a gift. For some reason, I felt compelled to include that airbrush in my portrait, not realizing then the impact it would have on me even to this day, forty years later.
The experts and teachers aren’t always right. My high school art teacher wasn’t right about my future. And my broken thumb convinced my doctor that my right hand would impede my art career. Yet, today, I create art that I am proud of, despite my high school art teacher’s harsh prediction that I would never succeed. And my right hand healed fine, thank you.

I’m excited to share that the UNDER PRESSURE — PAINTING WITH AIR (A Survey of Contemporary Airbrush Realism) EXHIBIT premiered on October 24, 2021, at The Huntsville Museum of Art in Huntsville, Alabama, where it will run through January 16, 2022.

My latest creation is titled BRICKYARD BULL. At a glance, this artwork is a colorful car portrait of a very special 2014 Lamborghini LP-570, one of only fifty in the world and one of only fifteen in the United States.
Inspired by my muse’s elegant lines and the golden ratio, this creation is the first of a new series of original life-size contemporary metal art nudes created by scratch.
08/28/21 — Salt Lake City, Utah, was the place to be for Willy’s Garage annual VIP party, car show, and airbrush art exhibit. Saturday, hot rod enthusiasts, custom painters, airbrush artists, pinheads, and car fans of every variety came together to celebrate the art and love of the automobile.

As many in the airbrush community may now know, this week, we lost one of the industry’s more noted artists. Airbrush legend Steve Driscoll passed away unexpectedly on June 23rd,
Created in 1994, this original painting was created on Tyvek, a non-woven surface created by DuPont. “The Look” has been in a climate-controlled archive for the last decade. Recently discovered and offered here, this is an original one-of-a-kind painting.
