World Day of Architecture is a special occasion dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging the profound impact that architecture has on our society. Through its design and functionality, architecture has the power to shape our communities and influence the way we interact with our environment. It can also inspire, provoke thought, and evoke emotions.
The fall beer festival season is heating up as the temperatures begin to cool, with two outdoor events this month.
With Summer nearly over and Autumn upon us, it’s car show season in the Phoenix Valley. To some degree, I may be exaggerating a bit regarding the season. Technically, the Autumnal Equinox was about a week ago, on September 22, but Arizona is still experiencing Summer heat, with today’s temps hitting 112 degrees. The Mesa Market Place provided an excellent venue to escape the heat with its covered public zones and soothing water misters, while enjoying the cars and chatting with fellow enthusiasts.
In celebration of my recent move from Las Vegas to my beloved old hometown of Phoenix, I was inspired to create my latest painting, PHOENIX RISING, as a powerful ode to the concepts of rebirth, renewal, and embracing new beginnings. Reflecting on my roots and the rich tapestry of experiences that Phoenix holds for me, I poured my heart and soul into this piece.
How long did that take? That is often the first question I get asked when presenting a new artwork. I always thought it an interesting question because aside from imaginative endeavors, I am never asked that question regarding non-creative activities. I find it to be an interesting question mostly because I believe creative time is different for each of us. I might be able to create something in a month that would take a year to complete for someone else or vice versa.
Art Is About Creating, Not Recreating. As a lifelong creative, I’ve always been fascinated by different art processes and techniques. This curiosity has led me to seek new ways to express my creativity constantly.
A sure sign that summer is coming to an end is when beer festivals begin to dot the calendar. September and October are also the months when Oktoberfest is celebrated and luckily for us there are two Oktoberfest-themed celebrations taking place in Southern Nevada this month worth knowing about and attending.
Earlier this month, I created a post celebrating American Artists Appreciation Month, promising to share a few of my artist friends, their backstories, and their beautiful creations. Soon after, I made a few calls and extended an invitation to some fantastic talent, hoping they would like to share their work with my readers. I was ecstatic with the response, and over the following few days, I received several emails and miles of images to share – so many that, in many cases, it was hard to pick which ones to use.
People from all walks of life view art differently. Some view art as a thing of beauty no matter what form it is in,
while others view art for its precision and its definition. Society today measures everything in time. For Soffa art is the ability to make vision come to life and to give his art the opportunity to flow in motion changing the way we view time.
In celebration of my ongoing American Artist Appreciation Month series, I’m honoring the dynamic duo of glass art in Las Vegas. I have been a fan of their fantastic creations since discovering them and their studio about a dozen years ago, and through showing my figurative art in their beautiful gallery adjacent to the studio. Over the following years, I got to know both Larry and Barbara Domsky, and each time I visited their studio, my appreciation for their art and creative collaboration grew.
