Recently, I had the privilege of meeting a very special lady and sharing in her celebration. She had just completed her final chemo treatment at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear, Arizona, and was ready to return to the real world, healthy and smiling. Her zest for life was amazing and her positive attitude and big smile contagious…
Last Night’s Book Signing Was A Blast! I joined Sienna Sinclaire for the red carpet premiere of her new book NAUGHTY GIRL’s GUIDE TO LAS VEGAS at the world’s largest gentleman’s club.
I love the Getty Villa. It would be hard not to love this spectacular tribute to the decadence of an era past celebrating the ancient world of Greece and Rome.
The Things We Do For Love. That’s the theme of my St. Jude sculpture. It seemed like such an obvious choice for me, mostly because LOVE is what St. Jude does and is all about.
Have you ever thought much about a pencil? It’s one of the simplest tools man has ever created, yet one of the most important. How a pencil is made hasn’t changed much really over time. FigurativeArtist.org is the premier contemporary figurative artist gallery & directory on the Internet. Period. I am fully convinced that you will find no better collection of world-class artists and figurative art than on their website.
The Sexxy Show, A Topless Revue featuring Jennifer Romas and her six sexxie sirens opened in true Las Vegas style in the Shimmer Showroom at the Westgate Resort and Casino.
I’ve been a fan of Beti Kristof’s art and creative sensibilities since the day we met. Her passion-filled spirit and paintings embrace life and a zest for art, making her stand out from other artists. As a result, canvas and paint take on a momentum of their own.
Andy Warhol once said, “Art is what you can get away with.” Clearly, he was on to something. With his controversial pop art, he explored the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement – and he got away with a lot. Even with his passing in 1987, he is still among the best-selling American artists ever. And today, maybe even more so, he is everywhere in art.
It’s a New Year. And with that comes a Renewed Vision. For me, that is all about art. After all, art is my passion, so almost everything I think and dream about is about art in one way or another, and the possibility of a brighter creative future.
Pop the champagne and blow out the candles. This week, ADCook.com turned 18. Launched on October 23, 1996, my art site has undergone many design iterations and grown over the years, but its primary purpose has always been art and design.
