MOMENTUM Continued

CREATION and EVOLUTION at The Corvette Museum

Today marks one year since my Corvette diptych, MOMENTUM, was first displayed at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, as part of the LUSTER Exhibit.

MOMENTUM is a two-piece painting celebrating the 70th anniversary of the iconic American sports car, the Corvette. The first painting, CREATION, pays homage to the original Corvette, created in 1953, which paved the way for its legacy of driving machines. The second painting, EVOLUTION, showcases Corvette’s latest advancements with a 2023 70th Anniversary Stingray Z06 in Arctic White.

National Corvette Museum official logoMOMENTUM was initially part of the LUSTER exhibition, highlighting Realism and Hyperrealism in Contemporary Automobile and Motorcycle Painting, at the National Corvette Museum from March 15, 2024, through January 5, 2025. The exhibition featured sixty artworks by fifteen artists, including MOMENTUM and other artworks by A.D. Cook, such as AMERICA, DREAM 103, and INDIAN SUMMER.

While the LUSTER Exhibit has since moved on to its current venue, the Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center in Lake Charles, LA (through April 30, 2025), MOMENTUM remains on extended stay at the Corvette Museum. Be sure to check it out up close on your next visit to the museum.

Throughout MOMENTUM’s journey, I’ve shared its progress and storyline on my Corvette 70th Anniversary Timeline page. This page highlights the artwork’s inception to the present and includes links to posts and videos.
