Hot Rod Night at the Westgate

Classic cars and hot rods made for an exciting show at Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale, Arizona. This was my first visit to this venue and my first car show experience on the west side of the Phoenix Valley.

While I’m told that the gathering of amazing cars happens every Wednesday from September 18 through October 16, from 5 PM to 9 PM, I only learned of it recently through a friend, and I’m grateful for that, especially since this is the best car show I’ve been to in a while. “Best how?” you ask. Well, for one, the venue is exciting. It reminds me of Vegas a bit, with all its jumbo-sized monitors flashing images throughout the evening. Those bright colors lit up those beautiful cars like Christmas trees, with reflections dancing over those graceful curves of classic American Iron.

This is a fantastic opportunity for car enthusiasts and families to cruise in and enjoy a captivating classic car show complemented by live tunes from Speedway Music to energize the atmosphere with their 50s and 60s Rock and Roll.

For this exciting event, cars of all makes and models were showcased. Vehicles from the eighties and earlier were parked in the picturesque WaterDance Plaza, while those manufactured in the nineties and later were lined side-by-side on Westgate Boulevard near the beautiful Fountain Park.

There were so many unique cars that I could have been there, admiring each for its meticulous detail for countless hours. Many of these autos are masterful show cars that I would love to photograph if not for time. If pressed to choose a favorite, I would be at a loss. So many reminded me of cars that either I drove, or my friends had back in my high school days, although very few were at this level.
