Gilbert Cars & Coffee, Gilbert, AZ

November 2, 2024 - 9 AM to Noon

The Gilbert Cars & Coffee was probably the most diverse car show I’ve been to in a long while, maybe ever. Vehicles of every design were on hand at the Famous 66 American Tavern, 1026 S. Gilbert Rd. in Gilbert, AZ. It doesn’t matter what you like; it was there — hot rods, rat rods, bugs, sports cars, and a few Hummer military rigs.

Today marked my eighth car show in five weeks across the Phoenix Valley (click here for previous shows and pics). There are so many great car shows across the valley that it would be impossible to catch them all, but I am ecstatic to have stopped in on this one. As always, I enjoyed taking pictures of miles of amazing cars and meeting fellow car enthusiasts who are always happy to share their insights and stories.

As always, I had my favorites, of which any would work for me. But to say it would be easy to pick a obvious favorite is tough. While my regular readers know that I’m a sucker for Corvettes and import sports cars (especially Lamborghini), but I also love cool pickup trucks and classic cars, street rods, and outrageous rat rods. However, one of my all-time favorite cars is the iconic Ford GT. Built for the track, the GT is pure business. I had the pleasure of driving a GT40 a few times a few years back and fell in love with its simplicity and elegant design. There were two on display at this show, and both were stunning.

I’m sharing a hundred awesome pics of what I saw and what makes them unique. Cars, especially custom cars, are art. I see each one as a sculpture with purpose. Some are smooth and sleek, while others are rough and tough. Some are project cars, forever evolving, while others are rolling masterworks worthy of any museum. They are all cool in their way. Enjoy the pics below and follow the links at the bottom for previous Arizona car show posts.
