Fine Art Flashback

Beauty Is Timeless - Art Is Eternal

I recently pulled a couple of paintings from my archive to share with someone with a similar taste for figurative artwork and fine art nudes. I haven’t seen the paintings I unboxed in years, so witnessing them with fresh eyes was nice — the kind of nice that required a fresh coffee and a little time to sit and enjoy some art I created several years ago. One of my recently unboxed paintings, in particular, is a huge favorite of mine.

One of the biggest reasons I enjoy painting nudes is their timelessness. Body mods and trends may come and go, but people don’t change all that much for the most part—not naturally, anyway. I like creating timeless nudes that celebrate that timeless beauty. That’s why you rarely see jewelry or fashion pieces in my work. My models, too, are natural to ensure a timeless quality, and I rarely include tattoos.

MUSE (featured artwork above) is, to my eye, the definition of timeless beauty. My model, Victoria, exudes loveliness with her natural figure and friendly glance. The only thing that could even come close to dating the image is the chair, which is over two hundred years old and has miles of authenticity and provenance.

Beauty is truly timeless, captivating us across generations and allowing us to connect with emotions that transcend the passage of time.

All the paintings in this post are from 2004 and 2005, a very productive period for me. Over those two years in the studio, I worked with several models and painted about a dozen realistic monochromatic life-size paintings on specially prepared canvas (along with a couple of other non-figurative works). Below are a few of my better-known pieces. Scroll below for links to other works in the series.
