Celebrating America's Best
Over the past few years, I’ve inadvertently created a collection of artworks that has fondly become my America First Series.
It’s a small series of epic paintings of America’s Sports Car and American iron – aka Haley-Davidson and Indian motorcycle. Several of my America First creations include an American flag as part of the prevailing theme.
MOMENTUM (above), my current addition to the series, features two Corvettes: CREATION, a Polar White 1953/54 C-1, and EVOLUTION, a 2023 Arctic White C8 Stingray Z06, painted in acrylic on specially prepared canvas, 48″ x 120″ (each painting is 48″ x 60″), in celebration of America’s Sports Car.
My second most recent painting is DREAM 103 (24″ x 36″), which I painted in 2016 for the Sturgis Skin & Bones art show at the Buffalo Chip for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
And finally, AMERICA (48″ x 60″), a commissioned painting for my private collector in the great Northwest, is a tribute to the famous Captain America chopper from the Easy Rider movie (1969); America is a centerpiece painting that invites you to step in and get a little closer.
All three (four) paintings listed above, along with INDIAN SUMMER, are on display at the National Corvette Museum as part of the LUSTER Exhibition through January 5, 2025.
