Las Vegas Dining and Entertainment News

I am honored and grateful to accept my friend A.D. Cook’s invitation to contribute my culinary and entertainment articles to this website. I will be writing a weekly column titled Las Vegas Dining and Entertainment News in which I will detail noteworthy restaurant openings and closings, dining news, culinary events and entertainment news worth knowing about. From time to time, I’ll also be sharing standalone articles on the same.

One of the reasons I’m so happy about this prospect is having the opportunity to be part of such a multi-faceted website put together by a multi-talented artist with skills that cover a multitude of domains. Not only is A.D. a brilliant artist whose art creations are his life-long never-ending journey, he’s also an accomplished writer, photographer, graphic designer and (self-described) web geek.

Nevada Beer Quest - Issue #002 on the rackThis is not my first collaboration with A.D. Cook. In 2019 we worked together on the Nevada Beer Quest, the first and only brewspaper to ever have been published in the Silver State. A.D. served as founder, publisher, editor and writer and I filled the roles of copy editor and writer. Together we covered the openings of Trustworthy Brewing at The Venetian/Palazzo, the Hop Nuts taproom at Tivoli Village, Mohave Brewing in Henderson, Able Baker in the Arts District and Scenic Brewing in Southwest Las Vegas; the 2019 National Beer Wholesalers Association Convention and Trade Show; and provided readers with news of upcoming events. Although the publication was short lived, it was groundbreaking by providing an outlet devoted solely to promoting our local breweries and craft beer culture.

In Michael Geld’s book How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci: Seven Steps to Genius Every Day, he identifies one of the attributes as having an insatiable curiosity and thirst for learning. While I would not describe myself as a genius, I do strive to seek out details and facts for my reporting and am excited to be able to share news in the culinary and entertainment realms with both my new and longtime readers.

On this, the last day of 2023, I look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with A.D. and his ADCook.com website, and to helping it become even more multi-faceted than it already is.
