VFW Post 9399 1st Annual Car & Motorcycle Show

Clear skies and warm weather prevailed as the VFW Post 9399 hosted its 1st Annual Car and Motorcycle Show this past Saturday, and the quantity and quality of eye candy was impressive.

Arizona’s beautiful southwest has no shortage of classic and contemporary cars to complement its stunning mountains and winding highways, making it a perfect backdrop for such an event. This is my second car show to cover in as many weeks (see last week’s post), and so far, I’ve genuinely enjoyed witnessing the eclectic collection of local rides. Each vehicle tells its own story, reflecting its owners’ passion and creativity, and the community’s vibrant energy is palpable. It’s inspiring to see how much pride people take in their vehicles, and the camaraderie among enthusiasts adds a special touch to the atmosphere. From vintage muscle cars to sleek modern motorcycles, the diversity of vehicles showcased a rich history of automotive design and engineering that reflects the region’s vibrant culture.

The event attracted enthusiasts, families, and curious onlookers, all eager to share their passion for automobiles and engage in lively conversations about their favorites. I also found my favorite cars there, including a couple that reminded me of my old high school days and some stunning new beasts, all hoping to take home a trophy or two in appreciation of the celebration of America’s favorite passion for rolling art.

The VFW Post 9399, in conjunction with AZ Hot Rod & Custom Stitching, came together to present the show to benefit the AZ Boys & Girls Club for Christmas gifts and dinner boxes.

The VFW, with its Auxiliaries, includes 2.6 million members in approximately 9,000 Posts worldwide.

Their accomplishments are many, including lobbying for a GI bill for the 20th century; donating more than $1 million each to the Vietnam, Korean, Women in the Service, and World War II memorials; fighting for compensation to veterans diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome; and improving VA medical centers services for women veterans. In 2001, VFW unveiled its tribute to service and country with its dedication to Centennial Plaza.  Annually, VFW members and its Auxiliaries contribute more than 13 million hours of volunteerism in the community, including participation in Make A Difference Day and National Volunteer Week. From providing $2.5 million in college scholarships to high school students every year to encouraging the elevation of the Veterans Administration to the president’s cabinet, the VFW is there – honoring the dead by helping the living.
