My Newest Creation, NEXUS
I’m excited to wrap up Nexus, my newest figurative painting on metal. I’ve been working on her for a while and enjoyed every minute in the studio creating her. Perhaps, especially since she’s my 50th birthday celebration painting. So she had to be remarkable. Measuring 30″ x 60″, the torso is about twice life-size. All grinds in the metal lead to the fabric she is holding with powerful energy. The light dances around her hands and through her torso as you pass by or the day’s light passes.
She’s off for her clear now, then buffing and polished to a high gloss. Beyond that, a couple more steps, and she’s finished and ready for unveiling. Stay tuned for a follow-up post soon.
