THE 19th HOLE metal painting by A.D. Cook

19th Hole

2007, 48″ x 12″, urethane on hand-ground metal

The After Game…

The 19th hole is where the celebration begins, and the real game is played off the course and over a great cigar.

This original artwork features miles of deep black paint layered over specially-ground aluminum. The metallic ashtray is scribed away to reveal the metals and create a holographic illusion within the artwork. Finally, the smoke is created in a color-shifting metallic pigment lightly airbrushed over the black before several coats of clear are applied and polished.

Let the game begin.
